Recargo Joins the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA)

Revised September 19, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 2011 – Recargo, Inc., developer of mobile applications for drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) and connected cars, has joined the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the preeminent industry association dedicated to advancing electric drive as a core technology on the road to sustainable mobility.

Recargo is a privately held company based in Los Angeles. By providing drivers instant access to essential information, Recargo aims to accelerate the adoption of EVs and eliminate range anxiety. The company recently updated its Recargo mobile app for locating EV charging stations to receive automatic station location and availability status updates from Coulomb Technologies, creator of the ChargePoint® Network, the largest online network of independently-owned EV charging stations. The app maps a total of more than 5,700 EV charging stations worldwide, featuring the industry’s most active real-time comments and reviews crowdsourced from U.S. drivers coast to coast.

“We are glad to welcome Recargo as the newest EDTA Member,” said EDTA President Brian Wynne. “We applaud their commitment to the development of mobile applications for the next generation of connected automobiles.”

As the unified voice for the electric drive industry, EDTA’s membership includes a diverse representation of vehicle and equipment manufacturers, energy providers, component suppliers and end users. EDTA supports the sustainable commercialization of all electric drive transportation technologies by providing in-depth information, public policy advocacy, education, industry networking and international conferences and exhibitions.

“Collaboration among the electric drive industry’s many sectors is the most effective and efficient method to achieve the goal of widespread adoption of plug-in vehicles,” said Recargo CEO Brian Kariger. “Recargo is excited to help advance this goal through its new membership in EDTA.”
